Day 17

“If we look closely enough, we’ll realize a flower is never just a color in the distance. It’s a collection of shades, pollen, and veins— each with a depth of its own.”

So it is with life. If we think in terms of absolutes, we’ll expect the world to appear and behave in a rose-colored way. That means we’ll never recognize nor be capable of appreciating the richness or depth that comes from focused attention.

Focus brings order to obscurity. The commonplace, the overlooked, and the mundane will change under a focused gaze. Our focus deconstructs and rebuilds these objects in helpful ways. It is through this process that we can gain fresh perspectives and transform our everyday stressors and problems into opportunities to drive our success.
